One part Vodka. Three parts team spirit.

A few years ago, our KC Chiefs went to the superbowl for the first time since the 70s. Needless to say, our city was seeing red. We were pumped for our hometown heroes to win the big game and put the Midwest on the map for something other than BBQ. During this time, I whipped up the KC cocktail to add a little team spirit to those tailgates or watch parties. The drink chosen is a twist on the classic New England Cape Codder Cocktail.

Here’s what you need to start:
1.5 ounces citrus-flavored vodka
4 ounces cranberry juice
A dusting of sugar to taste the rim of each glass
Lemon twist
Candied ginger
Chill your glasses for at least an hour ahead of time

Fill a small side plate with sugar and press the rim of each chilled glass into the sugar to create a decorative and tasty sugar rim. Combine vodka and cranberry juice in a glass and stir gently—top with a lemon twist and a piece of candied ginger. If you are KC local, swing by Caffetteria for your game day snacks. Pick up side, starters, dressings, and to-go cocktails from our Marketplace or order apps from our menu. And go Chiefs!
